Woot, the lovely judges over at forbiddenawards have awarded the following prize for my joint fic (with dean_the_hunter),
An Unholy Union / Darkness Falls, which is a Buffy/SPN cross-over.

An Unholy Union/Darkness Falls is a piece that sucks you in with no hope nor desire to escape. Hotter than fire and with the characterizations so alive it's irresistable! The misunderstandings and emotional hangups so real and heartbreaking in their intensity. Simply a must read!!!

Some pretty good news here...

forbiddenawards just announced they will expand into the SPN and Torchwood fandoms. I think that’s a really great move because of the numbers of hardcore BtVS fans/writers who have expanded into these two other fandoms. I myself have gravitated towards SPN, but since Spike... erm ... Captain Jack sometimes appears on Torchwood, I can see going there some time.

In other news, my historical romance “trouser ripper” (the judges call it a “bodice ripper” heee) The Naughty Ward featuring AU Spike and Xander won the following award and received the following comment from the tireless judges:




A fic in the fashion of a dirty, indulgent bodice ripper, the poignant moments coupled with breathless anticipation and lush satisfaction. Young Alexander must have his way, whatever the cost and the journey that Virtualpersonal takes us on throughout is nothing short of wonderful.

And.... Temptation, a teacher/student Spike/Dawn fic I co-authored with vikingprincess also won the following award.




Dawn is off to England to be trained as a Watcher and shake up the establishment a bit. Little does she realize that it’s her world that’s about to come crashing round her ears. Because not only did Spike come back from the dead after the fall of Sunnydale, he doesn’t remember who she is. Dawn of course immediately sets out to right what she sees as a horrible wrong.

This story snares you from the first syllable. Not only is Dawn young and impetuous but you actually LIKE her in this fic and find yourself rooting for her as she single mindedly goes on the hunt for one Mr. Spike, otherwise known as her very untouchable teacher. Hot doesn’t begin to describe this one, but you’ll find that beyond the sex and the heat, there’s love and commitment and the kind of emotion that can only be found with your true soul mate.

This pretty award button is for Spike And Xander's Excellent Hogwart's Adventure, co-written with nashmaveric, which won a Judge’s Choice Ecstasy Award with this comment: What happens when Spike and Xander are dropped into the bodies of Harry Potter and Draco Malfoy during an argument while watching the latest movie? This fantastically funny, UST-filled adventure to find their way home. It may only be rated PG-13, but it'll definitely get your motor revving! (And yes, I do sometimes write somthing other than NC-17!)



And finally, this pretty award button is forBeastmaster, co-written with catscorner, which won the Runner Up Ride Me Like A Pony Award for best het with this comment: A lively tale full of magic, misunderstandings and mucho hotness. A wickedly naughty scene in the lift secures its position as a Grade A fic – highly recommended. (I think our next chapter will be up by the end of the weekend, we've been a bit slow)

Judge's Remarks: Post-finale fics are tricky because there are two canons which must be reconciled and sifted through in order to make a reunion between the verses plausible. Dawn is difficult character to write, and is far more complex than that for which she is given credit. It is rare that an author pays her the attention she deserves. She's also troublesome because many people still refuse to see her as anything other than Buffy's little sister. One could argue that a post-Chosen removes this impediment, but often, it only reinforces the stereotype. Regardless of her age, many don't want to consider Dawn an adult who has sex, who has experience and wisdom, and who has moved out from under her sister's shadow. Temptation brilliantly overcomes the aforementioned obstacles to produce lovely, quality story which is not only compelling, but true to the characters, their history, canon, and fandom.

*Twirls and bounces* ... Okay, probably doesn't sound like too graceful a move there.

"William is Alexander's guardian, and the boy has always had a crush on the dashing, older man. William has always rebuffed any flirting Alexander initiates, but when the younger man finally figures out a way to bed William, it doesn't turn out like he'd hoped. But he is persistent and we are treated to a lovely WIP in which Alexander keeps trying to get William to see how good they could be together. This is a great period piece, with accurate attention to details from a time long ago, and well-voiced characters. I hope the author writes more of this one soon!"

I was so happy to see that awards announcement, but have been busy trying to get my schedule under control. I'm almost there I think, so there will hopefully be more of this story soon.

Using the Police song "Dont Stand So Close To Me," as the theme of this now complete story, veteran virtualpersonal and newcomer vikingprincess weave a hot and potent spawn story based on the teacher/studen which perfectly suits the forbidden older man/enticing young woman mythos. I can't wait to see what these two brew up next since not only are they both very able writers, they know how to create an exciting product.

Some lovely person nominated Touched over at Sunnydale Memorial Awards. Now, they may have been a wee bit overenthusiastic because the story is nommed in several categories: Best Author, Best AU, Best Comedy, Best Pairing Unconventional, Best Slash

I'm very excited, and grateful for the nom. The best part is being up in a comedy category... cause I have no confidence in that genre. Really, it takes me a loooong time to make something even a bit funny. Touched was a fluke, and it was hard work. I tried to write something from Touched verse for Nash recently, and found I couldn't.
