Now... if you know me, you'll know how cliff hangers totally kill me. Be kind and tell me who you are so I can thank you properly, hmmm? Please? *Offers chocolate, even nekkid Spandery chocolate, or ... nekkid chocolate of your choice*

*Twirls* THANK YOU!

Can someone explain to me how I can put a song up for downloading through yousendit, and put the link into my lj? I'm going to post a couple song inspired fics and thought it would be nice to make the songs available. I looked at the yousendit site, and it seems to require you to put in email addressees... which is a bit different from what I want. Any help is much appreciated!

Yup, I am sporting my new icon by [info]nashmaveric - isn't it wonderful? I love it :: smiles happily::

Yes, I am now pounding away on the keyboard getting ready for posting at [info]fall_for_sx on the 15th. Alas, I am not artsy, so I have no pretty icons or manips to offer... and boy do I enjoy looking at those. So, I've decided to write a set of Xmassy stories, unrelated. Hmmm, maybe I'll call it the Spander 2005 Xmas Collection, lol.

I've written two stories and I'm definitely writing one more, but if I have time, I'll do a fourth as well. After that, I'll hopefully find some time to read other peoples' stuff. I'm suffering from reading withdrawal right now!

Okay, I don't get mad very easily.... but Im mad!

I had stories posted up at fanfiction.net. Two weeks ago, I couldn't sign on. It said "account deleted" and all my stories were gone too. Without an account/user name, just try to ask them a question... it is impossible. So, I used another account name, asked if they deleted me by mistake. It was actually what I thought must have happened as they were doing a bunch of upgrades and things.

I waited and waited for an answer, then I saw that at the "support area," they'd marked my question "closed." I reopened it, and noted they hadn't answered my question. Today, here is what I got from them:

"Account in question has been closed by the abuse department.

FanFiction.Net Support
"

Being stupidly tenacious, I've "unclosed" the support question again, and asked what the alleged abuse is. How does deleting an account, without telling the writer what their supposed infraction was, act as a deterrent to whatever conduct they didn't like? I don't get it. Moreover, don't they respect their writers and readers? How much trouble would it be for them to send a warning email advising what it is that is wrong/unsuitable to their site, and letting you know you're going to be deleted in X number of days unless you fix it? Their site is very automated, so I'm sure it would be a snap. Plus, hello, wiping out a lot of work both on reader and writer side of the equation, should not be so arbitrary!

Curious, I googled the issue of deletion at ff.net, and found various petitions to stop them from doing it. Even more curious, I found they close your account just because someone complains about it and that the reasons can be very silly.

Anyway, I'm not going to post there anymore, but I'd like to know... anyone else had this trouble there before? I have heard years back, a lot of people had problems with slash and adult stories getting deleted, and then AFF was born. But when I looked at the TOS recently (I joined this year), I did not see that slash violates their rules, and I had non-slash stuff up too... so I really don't know what the problem was, and lack of knowledge is frustrating.

Anyway - DELETION AT FANFICTION.NET? Tell me your stories about it...

<-------------------------- Points at lovely new icon.

So, a friend and I were chatting about the way to a man's heart, and this icon was born. Check below the cut if you're interested in the convo ::grins::

Okay, maybe we're not that surprised. But isn't the icon a keeper?

So.... I threw a Halloween party, and many of my LJ friends came. Some of them had great costumes. Others... what were they thinking!

Come See What You Came As )

Apparently [info]nashmaveric's costume was quite scandalous. And [info]catscorner brought farm animals! Sometimes I wonder about my friends :P

Anyone know if this article about the possibility of new Buffy-verse stories going straight to DVD is accurate? I think it would be awesome.

"Fine, we'll take her, but she'd better fuck like Helen of Troy with her ass on fire!"

That was a soldier taking a wealthy/inexperienced boy to a bordello, and being told the whores charge a thousand units of Roman money. Shocked at the price, he said in X town, I could have half the women and their mothers for that price, then agreed as noted above.

Hmmm, could be one of those "you had to be there" moments. Might not sound as funny here.

Aaargh... I've been under a complete mountain of work. I know I've missed lots of stuff on LJ, and hopefully I can work on catching up next weekend. This week will continue to be hell, unfortunately.

For those of you who have asked about Touched, never fear, I do plan on continuing it. My lap top incident was a set back -- it's no fun doing a "re-write," but I will definitely get to it at my first opportunity, which may be this coming weekend.

In other news, [info]nashmaveric and I have started working on the next story in the Spander Time After Time series, yay! Without spoiling (cause Nash would kick my ass if I did that), I can honestly say it is WAY different from the other stories in the series ::grins:: Estimated time of completion... I'd have to say next weekend, maaaaybee Friday, but not promising.

Feel free to bring my attention to things that I may have missed on your LJ, I don't know how realistic it is to think I can actually go through my entire F-list for a time span of several weeks.

Okay.... back to work now. *Screams*

My lap top would not boot up and after talking to Sony techs for an hour, I had to do a system restore. I lost EVERYTHING. Programs, settings, the beginning of the next chapter of Touched, fic ideas, and icons... OMG, all the pretty, shiny icons I've collected that have not been put into my user pics. I know it's silly to be all upset, but ... argh, I could hardly do anything but tinker with trying to get the lap top filled back up with things that are recoverable/findable.

I think I'm having a techno-disaster month. About a week ago, my bedroom t.v. blew up. Okay, not literally, but it stopped working! On the brigher side, new one will be afixed to the wall today, so that will be cool.

But my lap top info.... *whines again*

I entered [info]peasant's concritathon, a ficathon where writers have to give constructive criticism of two other peoples' work. [info]shapinglight gave me a concrit on my fic, "I Get A Kick Out Of You." She made lots of good suggestions and insightful comments. If anyone is interested in seeing how good concrit can be given, Take A Look Here And Scroll To Her Comments At Or Near The End

Wow, look at this nifty little LJ search tool. I've put it into my user page. It can be used to search all of lj, by choosing the "everywhere" function, or just my LJ, by choosing "my lj."

I was sufing LJ, prolly my f-list or else the journals of peeps that recently commented on new fics posted by me, and I saw a reference to Slayer cruise 2007. Intrigued, I went to take a look. It sounds awesome. So.... I posted it at my Buffy RP list on yahoo, and quite a few peeps are interested in doing it. And yay, that includes [info]nashmaveric, [info]catscorner and [info]belgerod. *Bounce* I sure hope we do it, and that others that we know off LJ or other lists join in the bandwagon. For anyone that is interested, here is the link!

In an effort to help [info]margarks with her marathon to raise money for research and prevention of strokes, I'm joining other writers and icon/manip makers in offering fic for donations. Check out the user page at [info]fund_fic for more information.

I'm offering to write:

$10 1500 words to 3000 words (you pick pairing, genre)
$15 1500 words to 3000 words (Same as above and if you have a plot bunny you want someone else to write for you, I'll do it.)

I write in the BtVS/Angel verse and am happy to do either slash or het. I can also write Firefly Mal/Inara... assuming I rope a certain someone ([info]catscorner) into writing Inara for me

Please make your donation on margarks' American Stroke Association donation web page Here, then let me know so we can get started :)

I went to see Tom Jones' concert at the Greek Theater, and it was way fun! I can't believe he still moves and sings that well and he took no breaks at all. I didn't realize he had such a good sense of humor, he really had the audience laughing between and during songs. At one point, when he didn't get a huge laugh, he said "that's called British humor and American silence," and that of course got a huge laugh.

Sorry to report, no panties or bras flew toward him during the concert, tho after the concert, a slightly tipsy woman threw her parachute sized bra at the crowd, lol. The audience was mostly in their 30's to 50's, with some 20 somethings. I didn't see any teenie boppers. What was really cool is that young and old, most people knew the words of his songs (both his old ones and newer ones). We had wine, then switched to margaritas, as we watched.

It was a nice evening, a light sweater was enough as it is an outdoor theater. And oh yes, for a grand finale', Tom exposed his stomach by raising his shirt all the way up and it looked like he has a six pack, although he could have gone to one of those tanning bars, and had "sculpted tanning" applied. Still, he looked really good for his age and I really enjoyed myself.
